Nexstetho HUB: Delivering Remote Auscultation Experiences Equivalent to Face-to-Face Consultations in Online Healthcare

Ideal for medical MaaS, medical containers, and inter-facility online consultations, integrating medical history taking and auscultation to deliver seamless online consultations.

Share Medical Inc. a provider of medical ICT solutions, announces the launch of its new product, the Nexstetho HUB, designed for use in conjunction with the Nexstetho digital auscultation device.

This product enhances online consultations with high-quality remote auscultation capabilities, delivering a smooth examination experience that closely resembles face-to-face consultations, particularly within medical MaaS and inter-facility online consultations.

■ Development Background: Challenges in 'Switching' During Online Consultations

In conventional online consultations, particularly D to P with N-type (doctor to nurse/patient) consultations, it was necessary to switch the audio input between the patient-side microphone (for the medical interview) and the stethoscope sounds from the digital stethoscope, either electrically or mechanically.

This switching operation frequently caused connection issues, such as the online consultation system failing to recognise the stethoscope. This placed a significant burden on the nursing staff present with the patient, who were often left scrambling to resolve the problem.

■Seamless Remote Auscultation via the Nexstetho HUB

The Nexstetho HUB resolves this switching issue by seamlessly integrating consultation and auscultation, eliminating the need for switching.

Through the online consultation system, the doctor can instruct the patient to "breathe in" or "breathe out" or give directions to the nurse, while simultaneously listening uninterrupted to the clear auscultation sounds transmitted through the Nexstetho device placed on the patient by the nurse. Once auscultation is complete, the nurse simply switches off the Nexstetho. The consultation continues without interruption.

This enables physicians to perform remote auscultation with a natural feel indistinguishable from face-to-face consultations, significantly contributing to improved diagnostic accuracy and reduced burden on on-site staff. This functionality is ideal for scenarios demanding high-quality telemedicine, such as medical MaaS vehicles supporting physician deployment to emergency scenes, or inter-facility online consultations where specialists examine patients at remote locations.
